Prior to the pantry's opening on April 23, 2003, volunteers ran a mobile pantry for many years. The new pantry is the first rural pantry to open in Herkimer County. With hard working volunteers the pantry has become a true success. Many thanks to our great team of volunteers and special thanks to the following groups:

  • The Herkimer County Hunger Coalition
  • The Towns of Stark and Warren
  • The Van Hornesville Community Corporation
  • The Jordanville Public Library
  • The Van Hornesville United Methodist Church
  • The Jordanville Federated Church

Also, a special thanks goes to the Ilion Remington Arms Company for donating the pantry's office equipment and shelving.
